Rachel Yup.

Barry: Interesting. Don’t remember having them with quinoa.

Rachel That’s because we never had it. There’s some in the fridge.

Barry: Nice. I’m hungry. Not sure what to add to that.

Rachel Add some more fruit if you want. There’s apples, oranges, grapefruit, strawberries and blueberries.

Barry: Sounds good. Maybe I’ll add some sliced almonds and lemon juice.

Rachel I saw, too much sugar.

Quinoa is one of the world’s most popular health foods. It’s non-GMO, gluten-free and protein-rich. It contains all nine essential amino acids and is extremely rich in antioxidants, minerals and vitamins. Quinoa intake is essential to maintain healthy body, skin, and hair.

Some Quick Facts About QuinoaJust one cup of quinoa contains:

  1. Protein - 8 grams
  2. Copper - 40% of the RDA
  3. Phosphorus - 40% of the RDA
  4. Magnesium - 30% of the RDA
  5. Fiber -  21% of the RDA

Quinoa cooks in about 20 minutes

Easy Quinoa Cooking Instructions

  1. Measure 1 cup of quinoa and place into a fine-mesh strainer. Rinse thoroughly with cool water. Drain.


  1. Place rinsed quinoa into a cooking pot. Add 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil.
  2. Lower heat down to the lowest setting, cover and cook for 20 minutes.
  3. Turn off the heat and let stand for 5 more minutes, covered.

Once completely cooled down add quinoa to your favorite salad and enjoy!
